Wow! When I was presented with this at the CheeseCake Factory in Redondo Beach, I was blown to the table, not away, towards it!!! It was as delicious as it looks. Crispy Chicken sandwich with Sweet potato fries. Who said the journey to healthy choice had to be boring???

Mediterranean Splash

Pick your favorite veggies (mine are kale, string beans, onions, tomatoes – ok its a fruit, raisons, and nuts)

Chop up and put in warm pan on stove top

Add olive oil and stir

Continue to stir and warm for about 15 minutes

Add cooked sweet potato fries and…

Voila, a tasty treat!

Alternative High Alkaline Dessert

In my new quest to keep my alkaline levels high ( range is measured in the blood from 1-14 and 7.35-7.45 is normal. each food has its own numerical value on the scale with under 7 being label as acidic and above that as alkalinic ), I am discovering new ways to taste great mixtures of food, while keeping a higher balance of alkaline foods. Fruits and Vegetable naturally are alkaline, while breads, pasta, dairy, animal protein, and grains are more acidic.

As a result, I made this dessert that doesn’t compromise flavor, taste, and health. Its low cooked peaches and apples, with raw bananas slices topped with cinnamin and walnuts….just delectable!

Guess where the least place I’d expect to find sweet potato fries? Well the title gives it away, but the day I went to the Long Beach Pacific Aquarium, they had a special with sweet, and delicious, potato fries. I also order a trukey wrap with potato salad (potato binge day) and it truned out to be pretty good. They also had a multi-berry filled pie for dessert that looked very rich and tasty, but unfortunately, I had no room nor time to eat it!

I LOVE Mediteranean Food!!!

Okay, Okay. I know I say that with just about every thing I post, but what can I say….I’m a true FOODIE. So many cuisines and spots to try & only one lifetime

Not only have I found Mediterrean foods healthy, cooked well, and just so tasty, but its unique flavoring and grilled vegetables, I haven’t sampled anywhere else as good as within the Lebanese cuisine. When we ate here I wanted to thank the Chef, Ali, personally, but we discovered he was gone at around 7pm. He makes all the sauses and prepares the daily portions fresh and leaves around 4pm to his staff to cook. I ordered chicken, grilled tomatos and onions, garlic sauce, and wheat pita. I choose to drink Jallob and water with lemon – no ice, as it helps with your vocal cords longevity.

The atmosphere here was warm, cozy, and familiar. There were plenty of groups and sets of couples meeting on the night we went. The restaurant has 2 separate locations, that were within a few paces of one another so our wait time on a Saturday was not long. At first we sat next to the door which made it very cold with the constant traffic, but with a smile and small request, our waiter changed our seats with little hassle. I’d definitely return to this restaurant once a week if possible!

When it comes to fish, I dont discriminate. I am “a fish lover“. Just as long as its cooked. I’ve never been a fan of raw style fish. I really like it FRIED UP!!! So here’s my latest fried treat: popcorn shrimp from Bubba Gump. What crispy taste, crunchy ouside with soft insides wrapped in savory & sweet sauces…paradise.

What can I say about this place? Everything good!! Not only is the atmosphere clean and relaxed, but its family owned. The love and care that they have with their customers shows in their food & service. When I visited this place, I was treated well and the food was very fresh, healthy, & tasty. My favorite with the Chicken Plate with Jallab ( Lebanese drink ).
